🀿 Your summer prep to successfully raise capital in September

Taking a break feels hard, especially when currently raising or planning to raise capital.

You might think you need to push through without a day off.

And Carta comes around and tells you that no summer fundraising is a myth and now is actually a good time.

I hear you, and I understand.

From years of experience and many summers, here’s my advice:

Take a week off.

I mean: Truly disconnect - no working in between, no checking emails.

It will pay you back (maybe even big time).

Side note: If you are about to sign your term sheet with you lead VC the next days, the worst thing to do now is actually taking off for a week. πŸ€ͺ

This issue today is for everyone taking a week (or two) fully off.

I’ve put together a summer list for you.

The goal?

Preparing you to raise successfully after summer.

Spoiler warning: I will not be the 100th person recommending β€œThe Hard Thing About Hard Things” by Ben Horowitz to you.
